Savera

Savera Iftikhar, a lifelong resident of Chicagoland, has had art in her blood since birth. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005, and her MAT in Art Education from Columbia College Chicago in 2013. She is a practicing artist utilizing a variety of mediums, but always returning to her first love – drawing.

Savera is also a self-taught artisan (crochet, jewelry making, embroidery, etc.). She teaches art to students K-12 as well as any adults who are willing to give it a try! Savera is a people-lover and is currently pursuing her lifelong dream and goal of becoming an art therapist at Adler University where she is completing her second Masters Degree in Counseling & Art Therapy. These days, Savera can most likely be found at her clinical internship – working with clients of all ages by utilizing art-making and the creative process as a means to help people heal.
