Savera Iftikhar, a lifelong resident of Chicagoland, has had art in her blood since birth. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005, her MAT in Art Education from Columbia College Chicago in 2013 and her MA in Counseling and Art Therapy in 2018. Savera is a practicing artist utilizing a variety of mediums, but always returning to her first love – drawing. Savera is also a self-taught artisan (crochet, jewelry making, embroidery, etc.) and teaches art to students K-12 as well as any adults who are willing to give it a try! These days, Savera is combining her love of art and helping others by working as an art therapist with clients of all ages and varying diagnoses by utilizing art-making and the creative process as a means to help people heal.
